I Will Praise the Lord!!!

In Psalm 34, David writes, “I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak his praises. I will boast only in the Lordlet all who are helpless take heart. Come, let us tell of the Lord’s greatness; let us exalt his name together.” (NLT version)

It has been a while since I have written and to be perfectly honest, I go through seasons. Seasons where I don’t know if I would say that I am not inspired, because my inspiration is God, but I would say my focus is elsewhere during those times. As I sit here at lunch today, late as always, I am thinking on the Lord’s goodness and all that He has brought me through and it occurs to me once again, that I have let the circumstances of my life dictate whether or not I am writing as I should be. I know, none of Continue reading “I Will Praise the Lord!!!”

Just Turn to Him

In the last few weeks there has been so much that has gone on. I don’t even know where to begin. So, I will start with this. Life is hard and being a Christian is hard. If you don’t believe me, try being one and holding your tongue when all you want to do is say something. Seriously, by nature, if you know me at all you know that being silent or not speaking my mind is not my strong suit. However, if you also truly know me you know that I hold my tongue much more than I would if I weren’t saved.

I am thankful for the life I have and for my Lord that saved me. I am thankful that if I do screw up and say something I shouldn’t that God is faithful and just and He will forgive my sin (I have to repent of course). I hate when I mess up though so hopefully as I get older in the Lord each year, God is helping to change me more

True Warfare!

I’ve been meditating on a lot of things the last few days and seeking God on behalf of others and for situations. The two Scriptures I posted below have been the ones that God keeps impressing upon me.

Regardless of what we might be going through and what issues we are facing, it is important for us to all understand that we are not wrestling against flesh and blood. Any and all struggles that we face have a root in the spirit realm. Whether you believe this or not, it is important that we don’t go into the battle unarmed. With that said, we are also not supposed to be at warfare against each other. If you have an issue you need to take it to the Lord so that He can either direct you in how to pray or so that He can correct you, yes, I said correct you. We are not always right you know, and the Godliest act you can do

Jesus, Come Quickly!

It’s funny how many of us have said this over the years. Especially in moments of frustration, anger, sadness or sometimes even when we are experiencing joy. However, I truly wonder if we have ever really stopped and thought about what that would mean. Think about how many people have said that and what would have happened if He would have actually come back at that moment. Now, take it a step further, what if that moment had been right before you got saved!

When we think about it in the context it puts it into perspective, does it? You see, even though we want to see Jesus face to face, or at least you should, this is not the prayer or statement you should be making. I think about all of the people out there that are lost and hurting and just want to be loved. When I think about how much they are hurting my prayer becomes, Jesus, please hold off on coming back until we can get more people into your kingdom. The atmosphere in our world Continue reading “Jesus, Come Quickly!”

It’s All About Love!!!

I wrote this back in October of 2012 but I believe it still applies today.

I have many pet peeves but one in particular that is on my mind, the judgment of God’s children. I don’t know whether to be disheartened, angry or sad at the way that those that call themselves Christians treat those that don’t serve God or even other Christians.

For the record, no, there has not been anything that has happened to me in the recent past that has caused this aggravation. I have, however, witnessed the poor treatment of others and it makes me angry because that is not at all how God intended us to act toward one another. Several scriptures come to mind when I meditate on this and there are a few I would like to share. I am not trying to attack anyone or to make you feel guilty but if you are someone who does this, I would like to think that I have made you think and in thinking maybe it will change your actions.

In Romans 2:4 it says, “Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?” We as Christians need to be aware that it is the love of God that leads men to repentance. Continue reading “It’s All About Love!!!”
