Fire Shut Up in My Bones!

To teach or not to teach…there is no question!

We’ve All Gotta Eat!!!

I am behind a week on my writing because I have had an extremely packed schedule and I usually write on Sunday evenings. I am trying to get into a routine so that I can be faithful to God with my writing. I may just have to start writing each day as He pours into me so I can be sure and capture all that He is speaking to me at the time. With that said, I guess I am like everyone else with a crazy schedule. I pray that the words that God lays on my heart speaks to you today.

This morning in service Pastor Glenn talked about God’s manna, not the main topic of the sermon but it did bring to mind a message that God had given me many years ago to teach. The title was “Yesterdays Manna Won’t Do For Today.” I felt like God wanted me to touch on that message a little today. In Exodus chapter 16 we see where God miraculously rains down manna from heaven in order to feed the Israelites who were once again complaining and not trusting God. Mind you that He had just brought them through the Red Sea, on dry land no less, and yet they so easily forgot that miracle. Anyway, I digress, the main point here was that God provided manna for them daily and He told them that they were to gather only what they would need for the day and not to gather more than that because if they did it would be rotten, stink and grow maggots the next day. The only day that He allowed them to gather extra was on the sixth day because the following day was the Sabbath day and it was a day of rest for them. The main point was that God provided for them daily. Continue reading “We’ve All Gotta Eat!!!”

Through the Looking Glass

You know, it’s funny how we tend to forget things. When I was a child, I used to walk around our property at night and talk to God. I didn’t really realize that this was different because it just seemed natural to me. We didn’t go to church when I was growing up but I always had a knowing within me that He was real and that He cared. I would walk down the driveway at night and talk with him about all the things going on in my life and would talk to Him about the stars that He created. Later, as I got older, there were times that He would send people in my life to talk me about Him but I never really realized that until many years later when I got saved and gave my life totally over to Him.

I really wish I would have had a stronger relationship with Him growing up, you know, a knowledge about who God was and how He had spoken to His children throughout the years. I also wish that I had not gone through the things that I had gone through as a child, though I know now that it has helped me to help others and formed me into the person I am today. Things like being molested when I was 9 up until I was 12 years old. Losing my grandmother at the age of 12 who was always there for me and I loved so much because she was my best friend. My sisters and one of my brothers moving out about by the time that I was 7 years old and basically being raise as an only child, even though

Time to Move Ahead

There is so much rolling around in my head right now that it is hard to sit down and type it all out. I haven’t written in a while and it seems that my writing comes in cycles. I want to first apologize for not always being obedient to write when I should as I know that this is something God has given to me in order to help others. I am not sure if it’s my busy schedule, laziness or an actual attack of the enemy to keep me from writing but either way, I endeavor to do better.

There has been so much that God has been downloading into me lately, I am not sure where to even begin but I am praying that the Holy Spirit will just take over my hands and heart and write what He would want me to communicate. So many times we tend to be moved by our environment, whether it is at church, work or any other social engagement that we are a part of. We are also moved by the traditions of man, a lot of those are not even what God had in mind for you. Scripture tells us in Galatians chapter 3:28-29 that in Christ, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to promise.” So, if that is the case, why do we allow ourselves to remain in bondage to men and to the traditions of men? Change Your Perspective

So, I originally wrote this back in 2011 on a day when I was having lunch with my wonderful husband and told me a story that he had heard on the way home. I thought it was touching and inspiring at the time and since I had decided to take a small break from studying, I took the time to write up a new post. In going through some of my older writings this spoke to me and I thought I would share it with you.

Years ago in Scotland, the Clark family had a dream. Clark and his wife worked and saved, making plans for their nine children and themselves to travel to the US. It had taken years, but they had finally saved enough money and had gotten passports and reservations for the whole family on a new liner to the US.

The entire family was filled with anticipation and excitement about their new life. However, 7 days before their departure, the youngest son was bitten by a dog. The doctor sewed up the little boy but hung a yellow sheet on the Clarks’ front door. Because of the possibility of rabies, they were being quarantined for 14 days. The Fine Line Between What Is Good & What Is God!

Too many times we get confused between what is a good thing versus what is a God thing. Most of us always want to help or do what we feel is right. The only problem with that is for a personality like mine, we tend to burn the candle at both ends and tire ourselves out. Having drive and wanting to be helpful or successful is not a bad thing, but if we are being guiding by what we are thinking is a good idea, instead of praying and asking God for His direction, then we miss the point. God wants to bless us and He wants to bless the work of our hands but sometimes, just sometimes, we step into things that God never intended for us to do and then we wonder why everything is going to pot and why we are so overwhelmed. Don’t get me wrong, being a Christian is not a cake walk and you will have trials, in fact, especially when you are doing what is right. However, the distinct difference is the peace that we feel in the middle of the trail and the blessings that follow. Continue reading “The Fine Line Between What Is Good & What Is God!”
